Veneer + Build: Make a Table with Ahron Block
Veneering is where precision meets patience — a craft that turns thin sheets of wood into bold design statements. In this three-session class, students will create a veneered hairpin-leg table while learning every step of the process: cutting, stitching, pressing, and gluing veneer to a substrate. Along the way, Ahron will cover species selection, grain matching, and adhesive choices that bring out the best in your materials. Students will be given an option of 8 species of veneer that they will choose before class begins. All of the supplies are included in cost. The finished table is 17.5” high by 17” wide by 18.5” long. Students have an option of black or steel hairpin legs. The class is limited to this dimension.
The final session focuses on finishing and assembly, giving each piece its own character and surface depth. Tables can be picked up after class once the finish has cured. It’s a chance to dive deeper into fine furniture work and bring a refined, handcrafted table to life — guided by one of Soulcraft’s most meticulous makers.
Classes will run for three sessions on the dates below from 6-9pm. Students should be of an intermediate skill level, and be able to do basic woodworking on their own. Class minimum of two students. If class minimum not met, student will be rescheduled or receive a full refund.
