The Urban Forge is combining crafts to offer this kid-friendly class at Soulcraft Makerspace! In this epic 2-day class, students will craft a serving-style charcuterie board with forged handles, learning both basic woodworking and blacksmithing along the way.
Day 1: Students will learn the basics of woodworking and shop safety while milling, cutting, and gluing up planks to form their charcuterie board. While the glue dries, the class will head over to the blacksmith shop with The Urban Forge to begin forging the handles.
Day 2: Class will start in the woodshop to continue work on the boards, cutting, sanding, and finishing. Then it’s back over to the blacksmithing side of the shop to finish the handles and attach them.
Class minimum of 2 students. If the class minimum is not met, students may reschedule or receive a full refund.
This class can be customized for Scout troops, youth groups, homeschooled and unschooled groups, birthday parties, and more!
